Try asking an LLM not to speak until a trigger word is said. It will fail abjectly, and give all sorts of reasons why it doesn't need to follow the simple instruction it agreed to. there was nothing unsafe about my instruction, but some design rule overrode the instruction despite claiming that it would comply - in fact the bot suggested this method in the first place.
Extrapolate this issue to real world tasks and you have a big problem.

In a couple of hours today, I installed proxmox on 5 nodes, bonded the nics, created a cluster, added the licence subscription, DNS challenge LE certs, created a ceph pool. This sort of thing used to take a week or so with vmware vcenter.

Every time I have to update firmware on Dell servers, I am grateful that the Dell OME tool exists. The Lenovo Xclarity is a disaster area. And doing this stuff manually is unthinkable. Just bulk select click a bunch of servers and then wait for the updates to chug through. Saves so much time and is actually sensible. #sysadmin
